Haiku project

My first few seconds for the final Assignment: Haiku Flash Animation. I had started with few themes such as sky, dark screen, space...Finally, I came up with the Ocean as a theme for my project. By illustrating typography and image with the Ocean theme, I thought it should be suitable for the metaphor that I'm gonna build up. The first sentence is "a kite floats" and I chose jelly-fish expressing it's mood.

Blending Improvement

This entry was made with a lot of fun when I was trying using the plug in for Photoshop to extract the background out of the image.I wanna improve my blending skill which I thought was really important.
Woa, I had spent approximately 2 hours for acceptable completed removing this image's background! The reason why it took me a lot of time because I was learning how to use tool and brush. So, it took time to understand the functions of tools/brushed and how to combine those techniques altogether to make the best extraction. Finally, the result was not so bad after I had tried and tried again painting, zooming, adjusting...

Auditing Accounting Advisory Company LOGO

Okies, Logo again! This time, I help my friend create a logo for her final assignment on Business Frame Work. The logo is for a virtual company that her group is doing for the assignment. This logo is quite simple since I only use one typeface: Astron Boy Italic. This logo took me an hour to finish it due to its simplicity. Did you see the butterfly? Well, at first I made it a pie chart that represent for Accounting. However, I cut it into pieces and made it look like butterfly. It seems that the green color and the butterfly symbol altogether help emphasize the natural emotion.

After changing the hue, I have found out three other versions of logo. Because of the hue has been changed, it’s meaning the emotion on it also change. Hopefully my friend will find one suitable logo fit to her virtual company.

'special target' logo

This week seem to be “web week” when I have to spend much time on Web Programming. My assignment 1 for web programming was not so good; so that why I have to try hard in the final assignment. This week, I made one Logo for my web site project: Dating Website. The logo is quite simple that I have just spent time on choosing Font to be fit with the meaning of my website. While making this logo, I tend to focus on bright/romantic color. Consequence, this logo together is a combination of those colors: purple, pink, red, green and yellow… Let see, I might use tetradic color scheme.

I chose font Chick Regular for the word “special” and font Eager Naturalist Regular for “target”. Those typeface seem cute enough to catch the attention. Those characters seem gain the certain kind and sympathetic feeling.

Poster

This is my idea expressing Safe Sex. At first, I tent to take a photograph of Car that seems quite similar to this picture in the poster; however, I decided to choose this image when searching for photos.

Thanks for advices from Maddy, I have archived a significant improvement with my typography (compare with the older version). Those key words were larger font size and typeface that increase the high contrast.

Self-Portrait

Before saying anything, let me thank Khuyen for helping me shooting this picture. She is quite good at photography that she had taken me a lot of nice ones. Because almost pictures she has shot were so great, it really took me a lot of time to decide which one to make self-portrait, as I liked all of those pictures that she has shot.
Honestly, my self-portrait did not have the combination of many things. I thought that I am going to get bad mark from Maddy since I did not put any other pictures. However, I have spent a lot of time to cut my face into pieces, which I have to repeatedly using Lasso Tool and Move Tool to cut these pieces.
After finishing the picture, I realized those missing things that I have mentioned: the combination of pictures, the skillfully using Layer in Photoshop (and should be the lack of typography – maybe).
Hoping you will “see” something in this self-portrait – my message.

a Card

Finally, I have finished making this card. Following one tutorial making a vector card and this is my result. Honestly, drawing flowers was not my style and also was not familiar to me. It is the truth that these flowers I have imitated from learning through tutorial; however, there have been little improvements with my skill in using Pen Tools. So, those experiences are what I have archived up to now.



Dealing with creating this card, I have found out one interesting font that I have not noticed before: the Trajan Pro font. All the letters were upper case and there is a low proportion between the ascender and the x-height of the typeface. I was really interested in using this font and I have zoom out more than 1000% in order clearly feel the typeface of font. Because of serif-font and it is “the inscription on the base of the Trajan column in Rome” (www.myfont.com), my thought was that it should inherit the feeling of “warm” and “friendly” from the old style.

Trajan is an elegant typeface well-suited for display work in books, magazines, posters, and billboards. (www.myfont.com)



After the short time zooming-out and zooming-in in order for clear observation, the part that I like most in the letterform was the tail of the Q letter – it was really “long” that reach to the second character. It looked like a tail of the mouse.
